This image was captured on a cool fall sunset at White Sands National Park, located in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Shot as the sun dipped below the mountains, the parting clouds lit up a fiery red against the golden sky. The white gypsum sand and dark shadow of the mountains create beautiful strips of color and texture.
